Have several of these living near me and they pop in ...not the easiest to catch either (in the viewfinder that is ) Not the sharpest of shots but he is about 25 feet away and outside so not a bad effort

Note the body is flat to the wood to heat the lizards body (wood being a good conductor of heat) Common lizards are viviparous meaning they give birth to live young and its how this species gets its latin name and also where the word viper comes from (the British Adder being a viper is also viviparous...

Hi, I think this is a photo of one of the harvest mice that Howard mentions in his latest blog. Please would someone confirm it is a harvest mouse and not a shrew. And... please enjoy the photo that was taken on Saturday 11th Feb 2012.
