Harbour porpoise are a regular sight in Ramsey Sound with a resident pod viewable most of the year. Common dolphins however are a rare sight in the Sound, more often seen further out to sea nearer to Grassholm and The Smalls.
A few weeks ago a pod of around 12 animals traversed up the Sound with the flood tide before making their way south again. Below are a couple of excellent photos taken by Mike Chant , skipper of the Thousand Islands vessel, Gower Ranger, that lands visitors on the island.
