Last chance for long-eared owls

Last chance for long-eared owls

Hi everyone,

I blogged a few weeks ago that we'd be leaving Saltholme's long-eared owls to their own devices soon.  That time has almost arrived.

Sunday 13 March will be the last day of long-eared owl viewing.

Another great shot from the gallery, this time from Degsy - thanks!

Since we started showing people the owls in the middle of December, they've put in 85 days of loyal service.  Even better, they've only had one or two days off, and that's when we've not been able to locate them deep in the scrub.  Now, we're going to leave them to relax and get ready for what we hope is a successful breeding season.

Those of you who've been lucky enough to see them will surely agree that the long-eared owls have been fantastic.  They've helped to warm hundreds of hearts over the course of a very cold winter.

Bye for now,

Ben.
