As Kate and William’s big day draws closer, we're blowing the regal trumpets about Saltholme's own pair of lovebirds - two elegant great crested grebes.
You'll remember that I blogged some amazing photographs earlier in March of this pair of grebes. The photographs were taken by visitors to Saltholme called Colin and Mike. These were the first pair to display this year, so we've named them Kate and William. Does it get any cheesier? Their courtship display is simply breathtaking - it's accompanied by as much pomp and circumstance as Kate and William’s is sure to have next month.
We're now following their progress out on Back Saltholme as they build a floating nest
