You'll remember me blogging about the first avocet watch event way back at the beginning of April. Well the second one is almost here - with some new arrivals who are definitely worth seeing. Saltholme has teamed up with Natural England to give you the chance to see these beautiful and distinctive birds, and their chicks, on the saline lagoon near Greatham Creek.
The next avocet watch is set to take place on Sunday 8 May.

The events run from 11am until 1pm and booking is essential. Give Jo at Natural England a ring on 01429 853325 to book your place. There'll be telescopes and binoculars on hand for you to borrow so that you get really great views of the first chicks. Even better, it's all completely free.
