If mowing the lawn is a nightmare, spare a thought for Dan (and our other volunteers). They've been spending hours mowing the new meadow path at Saltholme.
New meadow path? If you've not been down the 'short cut' yet, then what's kept you?
The new path runs right through the middle of Saltholme's hay meadow, from the Lake Walk up to the Haverton gate.
Over the next couple of months, the meadow will be bursting with bumblebees, wildflowers and tuneful birds like skylarks – it’s a summer experience not to be missed. Amanda, Saltholme's community officer, had a wander down there today and said it felt like trekking through a jungle filled with butterflies, dragonflies and rustling grasses.
