Hi everyone,
Here's a lovely story from yesterday courtesy of one of Saltholme's volunteers, Brian...
A family of a grandmother, mother and two year old little boy were in the wildlife garden whilst I have was having my lunch. It was interesting to watch the boy dash around looking at the butterflies. The best bit was when he spotted a common darter dragonfly on the board walk through the stumpery. He carefully got onto his knees and approached the darter until he was about a foot away at which point he said "Hello" and stayed there for a minute. He then slowly stood up and the darter rose into the air at the same time appearing to continue looking him the eye.
Wow! Here's the dragonfly in question, taken by Brian ...
Bye for now,
Ben.
