It's not poo!

It's not poo!

As always half term proved a busy week at Saltholme.

A highlight of the week were the activities we had on in the classroom. Nearly 120 children (and their grown-up helpers too!) enjoyed getting their gloves on to dissect owl pellets.

Most people think owl pellets are yucky, but they're not poo! They're actually more like furballs made from all the bits of an animal an owl can't digest, which it then coughs up. We found lots of interesting bones and bits in the pellets, including bird skulls and mouse tails.

There was also a lot of ink printing going on too, with everyone getting stuck in to make a funky food web.

See you soon,
