Thursday 03 May: Sightings from first hide only: 1 pair of Cuckoo, good views of birds perched near hide, male Reed Bunting, Cetti's Warbler, Reed Warbler, 2 Common Tern, pair of Coot with 2 young, many Swallow, many House Martin over scrape, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Oystercatcher. 1 Fox with 2, possibly 3, tiny cubs.
Saturday 05 May: 1 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Glossy Ibis, 1 male Marsh Harrier, 1 Hobby (probably a first-year bird), 1 Peregrine Falcon, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Common Sandpiper, 5 Swift, 15 House Martin (at least), 5 Reed Warbler.
Sunday 06 May: 10 Avocet, 1 Nightingale (a few bursts of song on SE side of old tip), 1 Cetti's Warbler (singing), 2 Reed Warbler (singing), 5 Lesser Whitethroat (singing)
Monday 07 May: drake garganey on the scrape, 1 male Marsh Harrier, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Whimbrel, 1 Cuckoo, 125 Swallow on Vange Wick, 2 Nightingale (one in Wat Tyler just north of the marina and one on the county tip), 1 Cetti's Warbler, 5 Reed Warbler, 4 Blackcap, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 10 Whitethroat, 4 Chiffchaff, 2 Bearded Tit.
Tuesday 15 May: 2 Cuckoo, circled scrape, then perched together overlooking reed bed, 1 male Reed Bunting, 2 Common Tern, many Swift, Swallow and House Martin, 3 pair of Greylag Geese with total of 9 Gosling, 2 pair of Canada Geese with total of 5 gosling, 2 pair of Coot with 1 chick each, Peregrine Falcon on distant pylon with kill, Cetti's Warbler heard, good sightings of Reed Warbler
Saturday 19 May: Marina only: 1 Egyptian Goose in and out of ditch behind most western pool on Vange Wick, 1 male Marsh Harrier, 12 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Whitethroat. Dawn chorus walk 1 poss 2 nightingale, 7 cetti's warbler, lots of blackcaps and whitethroats, 4 chiffchaff, 2 song thrush plus all the usual suspects.
Monday 04 June: 2 Little Egret, 1 Water Rail, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Lapwing, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Cuckoo, 3 Cetti's Warbler (one from scrape hide and two from south hide), 3 Reed Bunting.
Tuesday 05 June: All sightings from first hide: Pair of Cuckoo showing well together at south end of fleet, Water Rail heard twice close to hide, 18 Avocet and 2 chicks, 1 Common Tern, 3 drake Teal, 3 pair Gadwall, many Pochard (mostly drakes), 1 drake Shoveler, 1 Skylark, 1 Green Woodpecker on telegraph pole for 10 minutes, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 1 male Reed Bunting, Canada and Greylag Geese with growing gosling, c.6 Blackbird (all males), 2 Great Crested Grebe, Little Grebe. 1 Weasel seen on approach road.
