Even if they creep you out, insects really are incredible.  Just take a look at this red tailed bumblebee - look at its eyes, its little feet, its wings and furry little body!

Now, if you're an expert like me, you'll know this is a bee.  We know it visits flowers and probably lives in a colony.  Unless its one of those solitary bees.  Or one that lives in the ground.  Hold on, don't some of them live in trees?  OK, I'm no expert!  Our Site Manager Tim is though, and he'll be leading a guided walk on Sunday 17 July from 10.30am - 12.30pm and will be on a hunt to find bees, bugs, beetles and other insects that live in our wildflower meadow, reedbeds and other parts of the reserve.

If you'd like to know more about the incredible insects at Strumpshaw Fen, then give us a call to book your place on 01603 715 191 or email strumpshaw@rspb.org.uk

Cost: £5 adults, £3 children (RSPB members: £3/£1.50)   The walk is suitable for adults and older children.

Booking is essential.
