Braved the snow on Sunday morning to go to strumpshaw and was rewarded with a lovely day and got some pictures of birds in the snow.
The Robin was a very accommodating chap posing quite well at the edge of the woods with a nice white snow backdrop.
Another photo moment which was a Pheasant, who I thought would have looked rather handsome against a snowy white backdrop by the river.
At this point I layed down in the cold and wet snow to get an eye level photo before he was likely to scuttle off. however much to my suprise he just strolled towards me bold as brass and got so close I couldn't focus on him.
I later found out he was affectionately referred to as 'George'
It certainly made me smile when I had a 400mm lens that was next to useless as he was too close. Its not very often I ever think that when trying to take photos of birds.
Saw an otter on the opposite side of the river and several species of bird that I have not seen before including a snipe and a goldcrest.
Looking forward to next visit
Great thanks to staff and other visitors for the information and conversation
