So, a good day had featuring our local butterflies and moths. local expert Doug Goddard took a party around the woods to see what butterflies could be found. They found 19 different species, including a mating pair of silver-washed fritillaries. The full species list was:

  • Small White
  • Green Veined White

  • Purple Hairstreak
  • Brimstone
  • Holly Blue

As you can see, quite a variety. The moth trapping went off well too, with 25 different species being found. These were shown off all day in the Little Barn before being released unharmed.
