So, just back from a fabulous time at Rutland Day. Was all a bit blowy, but luckily where we had the marquees we were protected by some trees. The sun shone for most of the day, it only really rained just after we had packed up, great timing!
We got to meet lots of lovely people, and painted the faces of a lot of them.
Even adults got involved in the fun, as you can see. But of course most of who we painted were kids
This little girl was painted up as a lovely butterfly. There were also dolphins, tigers, lions, cats, dogs and even a few spiderman. or is that spidermen? Even the RSPB staff got in on the act
Here we have Tim, our membership recruiter, having the RSPB logo put on his forehead. Surprisingly, this didn't put people off talking to him. Over the day six families joined, plus we raised over £250 in donations. Thank you all who gave.
The day was rounded off in fine style as I took the volunteer team along to a very nice local Indian restaurant for a post event meal.
Does all this sound like fun? I am always looking for new volunteers to help at events, particularly if you can 9or would like to try) paint faces. Do get in touch. Email me via toplodge@rspb.org.uk
