Leucistic Lapwing - defeating the odds by turning up for its 6th winter

Leucistic Lapwing - in fields near Grapnells Farm Wallasea. This bird has defeated the odds by turning up for its 6th winter, the distinctive creamy ground colour so different from normal Lapwings irridescent green.

There was a leucistic Oystercatcher for several years on the roost at Wakering Stairs . Wallasea has also had a near albino black-headed gull in the past.
