Radipole, 07-Feb-12.
A first-winter bird making a fly-past of the Visitor Centre with a Herring Gull not far behind.
I met Luke while he was out looking for this bird that had been seen at Lodmoor and Radipole the pevious day. After it had stood on the cormorant island for a long while, ignoring the many slices of bread he threw to attract it closer, it gave us a couple of brief fly-arounds before heading-off towards the inner harbour.
My first photos of this relatively infrequent "white-winged" visitor to Weymouth - so many thanks Luke.
Looks like you had a good day Allan!! Good detailed head shot on this one.
Lovely photos, so many gulls to learn!
nice shot Alan. Perhaps we'll be lucky enough to get one or two more these before the end of the winter.
Nice shooting Allan
