  • Photo: "Sharp scratch... ..."

Taken on Sunday 21st August 2011. This was a swift, clinical operation. It seemed to be a genuine source of education for a young family that was witnessing the process.

  • Forum post: Re: Unexplained Mystery in Norfolk Country side

The Suffolk Wild Life trust was holding an exhibition at the Norwich Forum. When I showed them the video of the caterpillars, they believed they may be Ermine moth caterpillars. I’m no nearer solving the mystery. Sorry I do not have a close up photo to show you.
  • Forum post: Sparrow Hunter

Hi all, I was out on my local patch on Tuesday hoping to get a couple of decent bird pics. I was only only out about 15 minutes when I saw this sparrow about 20 yards away at a height of about 20 feet, chasing what looked like a large Dragonfly. I was so amazed by this spectacle on my little patch...
  • Forum post: Out and About

I was very pleased to see this Cinnabar early in the month, but not too sure about the grasshopper. When I say not too sure I was referring to the species, the ID/Type of GH. This thing was tiny!...I mean less than 1cm long. I ended up laying down in the grass to get the shot, I must say he was...

hi there I was doing a bit of hovering recently, and I came across this insect sitting on the wall. The insect was small, and looked interesting as it resembled bits of hay/straw stuck together Any idea what it is? Thank you in advance Regards Kathy and Dave

Sorry no common name. Found in the moth trap this morning. Its a common one but I've not knowingly seen it before. Shot is not great and has been heavily cropped. Would have preferred not to hand hold it but needs must.

Another indication that spring is here. This little Pea and Bean weevil has put in an appearance - but on our windows..!!! - perhaps it's not wokeen properly from hibernation yet ;-)

Insects starting to re-establish their presense during my favorite time of year, everything is fresh and new, even the flies are a reminder of this wonderful time of the year. Oh I do like Spring........

Looks like a bird, moves like a bird, sounds like a bird, eats like a bird... but it's a moth. Why? Mindboggling.
