    Walking along the beach at Culmore, Derry (N.I.), the sun still up. Comorants gathering on the far shore, and a Little Egret, all white, is wading in the Foyle estuary. Thought it was one of the Herons at first, but no, my first sighting of one!!

    British summer seaside holiday at its worst - wall to wall rain, freezing, no wildlife to be seen... until we went to Dungeness. WOW! It was bursting with life and an Oystercatcher 6 feet away! Peregrine falcons, avocets, little egrets... So special.

    I was so excited I called my daughter down from her bed and we watched a little hedgehog bumbling about along the path and borders. It went into the shadows after a few seconds but we felt really proud and pleased that he chose to visit our garden.

    I have had visits of pheasants from the adjoining fields for many years. To see an albino female pheasant amongst the other females in my garden was a rare treat. The group stayed long enough for me to get my camera out and record the event.
