A few birds I photographed on my travels this past week!
Whilst having a break in Cornwall this past week my friend and I travelled around to various places and I couldn't help taking photos of any birds I saw! Nothing rare sadly. No Cornish Choughs (except for the beautiful ones I saw at Paradise Park in Hayle - I can't believe one Chough let me stroke...

Even MORE Goldies!
Well, you were right doggie, I arrived home mid afternoon to find the new 6-perch niger seed feeder fully occupied and the smaller 4-perch one too. There were other goldies in the tree and they were bickering away in the same manner that the sparrows used to in the Summer. I took a few photos from inside...

Pics from Slimbridge today.
After another couple of rainy days which have softened the ground and raised water levels, I opted for the convenience of hides at Slimbridge, especially as early morning weather reports had snow reported up on the Cotswolds. Welcomed on site by one of the numerous jackdaws. Started with a visit...

lack of wild bird sightings
We also live facing open farmed countryside . We thought that when moving here 5 years ago the area would provide us with views of many wild birds, but this has proved to be the opposite. In the city of Nottingham the gardens have wild birds, foxes and even squirrels. Here we don't see any sparrows...

Spuds - 'Rail' Food for the beginning of Winter.
John & Judith Rogers
Winter descended very suddenly here on the Solway. One day it was floods and water everywhere; next day, ice and frost – the place was a skating rink! On opening the curtains, we beheld a wonderful winter estuary: a deep hoarfrost; deep blue skies; the whole thing in shades of blue and pink...
