Tucked down behind a rock and looking out to Foula from above Nesbister bod, Shetland. The mists quietly fell down as I was sitting there; sometimes the world makes you smile even when you don't want too.

Our garden is "wild". This is a haven of peace for wildlife, such as hedhogs, foxes, and a great variety of birds. My favourite memory is that of FOXY our young wild fox which made himself at home in our garden.

All in Black and White Stripy muzzles in the dead of night, mysterious movement in the undergrowth. Seeking out food and tasty morsels provided by the awe inspired humans. Not one, two, three but four of you noses down in sociable circle bodies pushed together. One lifts a head to listen while the others...

Sometimes it's the small things that make life worthwhile! A close encounter with this cheeky robin brings as big a smile to my face as seeing an exotic visitor. Fantastic!

This was a great moment for my wife and I, it makes us smile every time we see it. I took this still image on my new Fuji camera. It is one of our several regular visiting Squirrels in our front garden. No surprises though, we called this one Hazel.

Late on a warm evening, a blackbird sings endlessly outside my open bedroom window, almost close enough to touch. I listen, transported; time slows; I am left feeling bigger, brighter, more alive. I fall asleep with a smile on my face.

Deep in Mid-Wales I remembered how simple a pleasure just being in nature is. It was the look on my son's face that summed it up.

You've all seen the Italian job? Well, sitting watching the spot where the minis splashed through the River Po in Turin, this little speedster caught my eye. It sat still for longer than them though, and certainly gave me a bigger smile!
