Guest blogger: Becky Clews-Roberts, People Engagement Manager for RSPB CymruWe had our first puffin island wildlife cruises of the season on Saturday. There was a great turn out with 66 passengers across the two cruises. We all got soaked on the first trip as it chucked it down, but our spirits weren’t dampened because we still saw loads! New birds for the list 6 years in the making include purple sandpiper and greylag goose on the island. It was great to see an increase in eider ducks - or the Frankie Howard duck as we call them because of their funny call! - and there were some fantastic views of the puffins themselves around the boats. I did the commentary on the second cruise and was exhausted by the end because there was so much to see! I couldn't get it all out! Our next cruise is on 21 May. There’s still spaces left so why not climb aboard and join us! Find out how to book here.
