Wrexham Peregrines show Jack the "daw"!

The peregrines have been busy guarding their nest site on top of the Police Station in Wrexham over the last week. A third peregrine visited for the fourth time this year and was seen off by the resident pair and a passing buzzard found itself being shadowed by our male!

On Saturday, volunteers John, Barry and Lisa were treated to the following scenes: 'A blackbird was being plucked by the male when we arrived. He took it down to the nest then flew off and made a few brief return flights, before going away again.

'Shortly after midday, he returned and the female and male made a number of circuits of the Police station tower. The female went back onto the nest and the male flew away again.

He returned at about 2pm and had a major spat with two jackdaws - we thought that he was going to take one! His acceleration in the chase is awesome!'
