May I take you back to my blog on the 5th May – “If my arithmetic hasn’t failed me for the first time in my life, I conclude that our young Peregrines will then fly 39 days later close to the 24th June.” Well, I was a day out. The first of our young Peregrines fledged yesterday! I wasn’t on the viewpoint, but my colleague Tia tells me that that two were out yesterday flying well and a third today. Speculation has been mounting between staff, volunteers and our rock regulars to when the first flights would be.  For over a week now we have been treated to great views of our three eyasses perched on the edge of the nest hole. We believe it is one male and two females. The adults have been most obliging for the viewing public too, by spending most of their time on the ash tree near the rock face. We're very proud of them, as it's been three years since we've had three young ones.

More news on our family to follow mid-July, as I'm off to Romania for a fortnight. In the meantime. I have my maths teacher to thank.
