If you've been watching BBC Springwatch this week you'll know that we've hit the end of the road as far as the live programmes go. But, that doesn't have to spell the end of your nature adventure.
The creature I'm going to suggest you get out and enjoy this weekend enjoys quite a slow life, especially if it's found a group of tasty aphids to munch through!
These insects come in all sorts of sizes and colours, some are loved, others aren't so welcome, while others still can't seem to keep away from a good book! If you haven't already clicked on the links (or looked further down the page!) I am, of course, talking about ladybirds.
As insects go, adult ladybirds are certainly on the more attractive side of the six-legged spectrum. Their larvae, however, are a totally different matter.
The great thing about finding ladybirds is that it's as easy as turning over leaves or looking in the cracks and crevices of trees and buildings.
