I did NARRS Training yesterday for surveying amphibians and got to see and hold a newt that I called Spidernewt because he kept trying to climb out of the tub (he is probably wild and free again now).  Later on we actually found wild newts along with frogs and toads in a pond and it was fantastic!  I can't wait to get my own survey square to see if I can find them for myself!  It's the reptile one next in a couple of weeks time and I'm really looking forward to that one!
