This is the first Little Owl I ever saw way back in 2004. When I found him he had fishing line wrapped round his leg and was dangling upside down in a tree exhausted. I got him down and released him apparently none the worse for his ordeal.
Weird thing , and it might just be my imagination , but a week later I was in the same area and spotted a Little owl not far from where I had released the other.I was able to get a few pics. I like to think he was letting me know he was ok. I've been there many times since and never seen another Little Owl although I have seen Tawnys. This is the one a week later. (Taken with an old Fuji 2600)

Hi Galatas
Lovely photos. One of my favourite birds, unusual to see one perched with a white background

Work is for those people that don't Bird-watch!!!!
Thanks for posting these. Cracking pictures of a brilliant little bird. The two on the rocks are wonderful, great composition in a really natural setting. Keep the archives coming !!
Andrew
Thankyou Andrew , compared to yours and some of the other excellent photographers on these forums my photos are mediocre , so I am flattered that you enjoy seeing them. The owl on the rocks is one of my own favourites. It makes a change from "a bird on a stick" that I am often criticised for. Thanks again for commenting , I do appreciate it.
Thankyou Grandpappy , I don't know if we have a lot here or I have just been lucky to see them.
Thanks Galatas - some lovely shots of a really sparky little bird! I really enjoyed looking at them.

God gave us two ears and one mouth for a very good reason!
Thanks Jenni

Oh I just love these photos, thanks, they are so gorgeous and I too love any owls, seeing my first Short Eared Owl today at Arne. Have never seen a Little Owl but would love to.
Thanks everyone. Only ever seen one SEO and that was at fairly long range.
A fabulous story and brilliant pictures too. I have never seen a little owl and always a treat when photos are posted.
Best wishes Lolly
