Last night, I spotted this Little owl perched on a post. (can all be clicked on for larger views)
Then this morning, a couple of the brown hares came over to say hello! :-)
Isn't nature brilliant?

Magic. Havn't seen a hare for ages. He doesn't seem phased by your presence.
Take care all, Stich.

Awwwww, they're gorgeous! I can't remember the last time I saw either of them either!
What brilliant photos, Marjus. Lovely grumpy looking Little Owl. However, those hares are really special. How on earth did you get close enough to take those shots. Did you do it from the car?

Thank you all very much!
No TJ, I was standing on the roadside, looking into the field where I often see them. Although slightly hidden, I always make sure the hares know I'm there. Once in a while, they'll come to me, to check me out. I can tell you that each and every time this happens, my heart is almost bursting out of my chest it's beating so hard and I hardly dare breathe!! There was the verge, then a ditch and they came to just the other side..... very special!
Edit: I was in the car when I saw the Little owl! Luckily it was a very quiet lane, where I could slowly edge forward and stop to take pics!
Wonderful photos :)
psst, want to see my blog? http://mazzaswildside.blogspot.co.uk/

I can well believe it. It would a heart stopping moment for me too if they came that close. What a thrill.
Careful with that ditch. we don't want you hors de combat again. LOL
Thanks Aiki! :-)
Thanks TJ; Indeed! I'm very wary of ditches now! Lol!
Lovely photos Marjus we get quite a few Hares around here and everyone says we have Little Owls but i've never seen one.
