Lovely to see some early signs of Spring yesterday (between showers!):
All under the watchful eye of Mum:
Please note: all of the above shots are crops from photos taken with a long lens. At no time were the ducklings disturbed or the parents distressed.
Enjoy!RoyC

Lovely shots Roy. Glad to know you follow the photographer's code and don't disturb the wildlife.

Like everyone else I have theories and opinions on lots of things I know b*gger all about.
Aaaw, those photos are just gorgeous! I saw my first mallard chicks of the year a couple of days ago, but unfortunately they would just not stand still and my own photos have come out quite blurred. These are lovely.
They always get a big awwwwwwwww from me. Simply gorgeous.
Cheers, Linda.

Thanks for all your comments. Having seen these yesterday at a distant "patch", I was chuffed to see a few more today at my local patch. How's that for synchronisation! :-)

@Stich - yes indeed! Best investment ever for me was my 400mm :-)
@Andrewa - agreed, can't beat the warmth of the late afternoon light on a lovely spring day. Pity we get so few of 'em!
@TeeJay - wouldn't know, I'm a big softie at the best of times :-)
