Had a lovely couple of hours at Rufford Park this morning and just thought I'd share a few photos. First of all the grebe I have been watching for some time now, still standing over her eggs. I reckon she still has another week to ten days until they hatch.
Meanwhile at the other side of the lake these grebe chicks hatched a couple of weeks ago. Feeding time and then time for a swimming lesson - the third little chick didn't want a swim and climbed straight back up onto mum's back!
Rest of photos haven't loaded for some reason - will try again!
Lovely photo Christine try again with the other

Next a fluffy mallard chick - mum only seemed to have the one which seemed unusual
There were lots of jackdaws flying in and out of holes in the tree trunks.
And finally Mr and Mrs Housesparrow decided to keep me company over lunch. (Birdwatching is even better with a latte inside you!)
Christine, that grebe with one humbug on her back is a stonker of a picture, and also the first one with the eggs. I love the cheeky sparrow, too!
Cheers, Linda.

Thank you Linda - I just have a little Panasonic Lumix camera but it has quite a decent zoom on it. I only used to go to Rufford once in a blue moon, but now I have discovered grebes I can't keep away from the place!

Snap! I have the FZ150. It's brilliant.
Lovely photos Christine..Rufford park is a great place.
Great shots Christine and good to see both Grebes still doing well, especially the three chicks. I shall follow their progress with interest once back in Oman.
