Whenever I see these Ducks I always feel sorry for them as people say such things as 'aren't they ugly', I saw these three at Melton Riverside, Woodbridge a few years back but haven't seen them since

fantastic !!!!! I so love ducks!!!
Well, the wild Muscovy Duck is quite a handsome beast, without the great bulgy red wattles (photo here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Muscovy_Duck_SMTC.jpg). So if its domesticated, selectively bred descendents aren't as pretty, then it's our fault, not theirs :)
psst, want to see my blog? http://mazzaswildside.blogspot.co.uk/
LOL Aiki. The wild one is quite handsome!
I think they are brilliant, with gorgeous colours in their plumage
Look at this one from the back
and now the same one from the front
Wonderful!
Cheers, Linda.

I love Muscovy ducks! I think they're cute and beautiful in their own unique way! When I was a kid growing up in Cornwall my parents kept chickens, geese & ducks and we had 4 adorable Muscovies. I loved them to bits and they had such characters. Great pics, btw. :)
I call the one I see Elvis because of the quiff, he is very friendly.
Ray
a good laugh is better than a tonic
Ray that sure is a handsome Muscovy! LOL!!
This one I saw at Oulton Broad with young
I'll raise you two Elvis's LOL :-)
Well, seeing as how this is the Muscovy photo thread, here are a pair trying to make young Muscovys.....
Seen last February whilst on a visit to WWT Barnes. The male was very aggressive, almost drowning the female. Almost as bad as Mallard males.
There are some wonderful photos on this thread......nice one, John!
Best wishes, Graham

Hii John
Theres only one Elvis
Tell me about it Ray, I was 16 when the KING first came on to the scene but the likes of Kirsty McColl [Sp??] and others swear they saw him or A N Other in a chip shop that might have been Barnsley!!
I wonder if you could have chips with this table ready duck l'orange LOL, I screeched to a halt on the Suffolk/Essex border when I saw this photo opportunity in a pub riverside setting sometime back:-)
Thats a cracker John, they are so friendly.
Could have been Barnsley for the king sighting, after a night out in town you see allsorts, Some of the young uns wake up next to all sorts as well lol
