After the debarcle of a factory yard tree being cut down and the subsequent loss of a Collared Dove chick, then the Magpies raiding a Black Birds nest, there was a little excitement this lunch time in the office car park as the Blue Tits started to fledge.
Three youngsters were found on the path, but moved to the safety of the (overgrown) shrubbery.
Even the Finance Director was seen digging in the dirt for worms and hand feeding the chicks, which were openly begging for food.
Later, towards the end of the people lunch break, the three chicks were still in the safety of the shrubbery, and at least one adult was seen visiting them - there is still more noise coming from up above (in the Willow tree), so there must be more than three.
Quite a satisfying lunch break and a good end to the week.

This is good news for once. So many bluetit chicks have died in the nest this year. Brilliant.
Cheers, Linda.
