Was really thrilled this morning to see a pair of grey partridges! So elusive around here now! Only the 3rd time I've ever seen any, compared to the almost daily sightings of the red legs!

Wow Marjus - was this another "on my way to work" sighting?
Cheers, Linda.

Thanks Sparrow! Indeed it was! I'm very lucky! Also saw 4 hares!
I thought as much. I do worry about you and your journey to work. LOL. It's a good job they are quiet roads!! Love the hares!
It's a lovely route I take! :-) Saw the Little Owlets for the first time yesterday too! Beats traffic jams! ;-)
Fantastic Marjus - we have a field of maize growing next to us - seen Hares but no Partridge. I now have the urge to don boots and go for a stroll!
Thanks Angus! Hope that you see some! It's a shame they're become so scarce!
MarJus It's a shame they're become so scarce!
Well spotted Marjus how many do you want lol, it's the other way round here we don't seem to have many Red Legged.

Gosh you're lucky Doggie! Think we must be in one of the areas where they've declined by up to 85%!
I know it's not scientific but i can see 10-15 regular on my local patch, i saw one Red Legged the other day.
As with doggie, not scientific, but about 6 to 1 greys to red legs here. I see at least 2 pairs of greys every day, and sometimes up to 4, depending on how far I walk. I am just waiting for dryer weather, as I hope then to see the coveys. I am always amazed how small the partridges are when they start flying about!
The greatest of faults, I should say, is to be conscious of none.

Extraordinary! It's good news at least! I wouldn't even want to say how may RLPs I see to the Greys!!!
Yes it would be nice to have some reasonable, dry warm weather some time soon!
What a great sight, Marjus, and the hares too. I haven't seen a Grey Partridge for years in this country. I guess the habitat round my way isn't suitable.

Just been out to test my theory, all i found was a big black thunderstorm and got soaked lol
Oh no! Did you actually have thunder?? Not had a decent thunder storm here for months!
