Doing what Gannets do I guess
Lovely shots of their pair-bonding display.

Like everyone else I have theories and opinions on lots of things I know b*gger all about.
They are so elegant, the facial markings make me think of art deco.

Beautiful photos,
love the colour contrast with the back-ground,
Thanks everybody, they are wonderful birds to watch and photograph. I caught similar behaviour with the Guillimots but unfortunately went and lost the SD card the pictures were on. Bit upset really but my fault for just stuffing it in my pocket rather than keeping it safe.

Real classic Gannet shots those Andrew,it's a great place for Gannet close ups in my opinion.

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
Seaman . . . . . it's a great place for Gannet close ups in my opinion.
Sure is. You don't even need a monster lens. In fact a very long lens is actually a disadvantage. 200mm is ample for lots of great shots as the birds soar past you at close range.
Utterly gorgeous!

Lovely photos Andrew - the colours look great against the blue sky and the eyes really stand out.

Lovely detail, especially in and around the eyes. Nicely caught!

Thanks everybody. I've taken a few hundred pictures in the couple of days and will wade through them once back in Oman. Bempton really is a fabulous spot to visit.
Oh wow, what incredible pics! So clear and close up! I think Gannets are stunning birds. So fascinating, so unique looking. Beautiful eyes and Germain's comment is so true, they do look very Art Deco! :)
