Took a last trip to Sculthorpe this evening before I leave again. Still trying to find the right spot to capture the Barn Owls out hunting. Had the best success so far this evening. Just sorry I have to leave tomorrow. If I Could only erect a hide about 30 meters into the field .............
Such fabulous birds to watch and they were showing so well tonight. Click for a bigger view.

Gorgeous :) Wonder if it's the same individual I photographed on Friday?
psst, want to see my blog? http://mazzaswildside.blogspot.co.uk/
Thanks Aiki.
This one was using the nest box on the far side of the scrape. However there was at least one other that was hunting and taking prey beyond the nest box so I think there were at least two pairs out hunting the same stretch this evening.
Fantastic !

Fab pics andrewa. Unfortunately, I am still awaiting re-population of my local barn owls as all seemed to succumb to the recent onsecutive harsh winters.
The greatest of faults, I should say, is to be conscious of none.

Thanks Galatas and Red Grouse. It was fantastic to see them last night and they came closer than usual. If id been in the other hide id have been a good 10 meters closer still - im never satisfied Lol.
Hope the local population recovers quickly Red Grouse
