Hi again!
3/8/2012
I'm sorry, haven't been able to contact you for the last few days, bad connection here! I did go to the Kurashki mountain nature reserve the other day. It was amazing! I saw a distant blue bird, I'm not completely sure what it was, but it was most probably my first ever Kingfisher, awesome! I never got to see an Osprey, but I still saw lots of other animals, including; a Heron, an Egret, a Swallow-tailed butterfly, a tiny lizard and, the most interesting animal I saw, was a Blue-tailed lizard, hiding in a pipe. I went to a baseball game, not very wild, but in fact, I came my closest ever to a live raven! It's wings swept, inches from my face.
See you in a couple of days, maybe, All the best,
HK.
Hi HK,
Sounds like you are having a good time and the nature reserve certainly worth visting.
Did you get any photos of the Blue-tailed lizard, hopefully you will post them on the forum when you return, sounds great and you have certainly seen lots of birds and animals.
Really interesting holiday!!
Hi guys!

The computer's playing up on me now, so I'll probably only talk to you once again from Japan because of this connection! I have had quite an odd few days since I last saw you. I think the Egrets fancy me! They're virtually everywhere and in huge numbers by the sides of rivers and lakes. I found a tiny baby lizard today on a beautiful grape farm in the mountains. I went fishing up there, which is quite a way from where I am staying, on the way I saw one of my favourite animals, the Mountain Hawk Eagle!
Thats about it, guys!
See you soon,
If you're all still interested, tell me if you want to see the pics!
Hi HK
It's been fascinating reading all about your holiday & all the wildlife you have seen,
so of course we want to see the pics, can't wait !!!!!
Really looking forward to seeing the photos when you get back. Sounds as though it has been an amazing adventure

Probably Onychogomphus viridicostus from what I can see (sorry, can't find an English name).
There are quite a few similarly patterned yellow and black species found in Japan, but most of these hang vertically when they land instead of perching horizontally like this one.
