this little guy has been sat in the butterfly bush for the best part of yesterday and hes still there now, no sign of any parents as of yet. weve got plenty of food out but im not sure if hes too young to eat it yet. will he be ok with out a parent?

Hi Trisha it looks well developed so i guess it will be ok, all you can do is make sure there is food out if the parents are about.
If you tried to help all you will do is frighten it off.

I had one do the same last year and like you was a bit worried so spent quite a long time observing it and noticed that mum and dad were popping in to feed and check on it. I think it just wasn't quite ready to face the big wide world.

hes still here but seems to be looking for food on the floor now hes in and out of the bushes so im hoping he will be fine. i will make sure theres some soaked meal worms out there on the floor. :)
