Swans defensive

If so click on the green pencil and go to rich formatting where you can do it.   I did have 2 swans trying to drown each other today and they were going at it for over 5 minutes while the third presumably female was just circling around them.

Hi aLL not sure where to post.

I am on the Kintyre Peninsula and hope to have some captures when I get back but they will not be good.

There is a pond on the campsite and a white duck and partned beige with brown tail feathers and white tips.

I have been watching and these two chase the mallards very nastily but they are not allowed on the pond by a swan and it's mate is on eggs. They are running everywhere trying to get on the pond but the swan I thought would kill these two especially the white one. They try to get on the pond and then the swan sails in and oh it is nasty with them. Really nasty.

I have learnt that a lady whose husband was dying said she could not think of a better location for them and left them. They are such characters and I wonder how they will cope when the female has chicks and two swans to contend with. At Easter they were loved so much and they have been here since Janurary but to me things are different now in the breeding season. The Male swan does not like the white duck for some reason.

I am not sure about ducks but do they need to eat Algie from the pond.

I think a good idea would be to find them a safe pond and it is amazing to watch.

Agreed All creatures would have been the place..but i would never worry B&B about posting in the wrong place the MODS move any threads that are in the wrong area.
