bob's_retired_now
After an enjoyable Easter weekend visiting family up North, I was able to get out this afternoon and enjoy the sunshine though we still had a cold wind. I had a quick dash up the M5 to Upton warren and was rewarded for my troubles with my first ever views of Jack Snipe. From the first hide, though...

Pictures from a new reserve for me - Upton Warren
bob's_retired_now
Today was grey, miserable and drizzle for a large part of the day. However I was surplus to requirements today so decided to go out and visit a new reserve - the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust reserve at Upton Warren. Why pick a day like today to visit a new reserve? Well I knew it had quite a few hides...

HELP SAVE SALGADOS
A recent article written by keen birder Frank McClintock..... You may not have heard but unfortunately, the Portuguese government has just given the go-ahead for development totaling 359 hectares all around Salgados (or Pera Marsh as it's known to some), down in the Algarve, an area just as valuable...

Today's pics plus a first Cuckoo

Today I went to Cotswold Water Park, as I haven't been there for a proper walk about - only previously visited for cycling with Mrs Bob, when I'm supposed to be getting exercise not enjoyment(-:). It was a longer walk round to the hides than I thought but it was very nice - a bit of haze keeping...

Took another walk around Coombe Hill Nature Reserve today. The Red Necked Phalarope was still there today but was as uncoperative as yesterday, remaining well out of decent photo range. Also was able to walk round to the other hide and pool for the first time since the water started to recede and saw...
