After reading about sightings of a Lesser Yellowlegs,on saturday we went for a day out to Apex park and the Brue Estuary in Somerset. We walked through the park first where we saw various Gulls,Canada Geese,Greylag Geese,Ducks,Coots,Great crested Grebes and others.
The park then led us out onto the estuary, where we scaned the area with our bins.No joy until we saw a man with his scope,we stopped and talked with him and he let us look through the scope directed on the bank was a group of Redshanks and this one Lesser Yellowlegs with them, sorry about photo quality,I was just thrilled i got to see it,arrow marks where it is.
We would return later after a walk along the beach where we saw Oystercatchers
After lunch and a wonder around Burnham on Sea,we walked back to the estuary where the man with the scope said the Lesser Yellowlegs would be and he was right, these were taken later in the day
Looking forward to our next visit!

Blimey Littleowl!!!!! What a stonking day out for you. I was glad you put an arrow on that picture - and then I came to the closer ones. Wow!!! Must admit I've never heard of a lesser yellowleg, but am still very impressed!!!
Great photos, but I love the BH Gull having a rest. Gorgeous.
Cheers, Linda.

Thankyou Linda,I am still beaming now that I have seen one.I am so grateful to the man being there with the scope,i had to just point the camera in the direction and shoot and hope I got it in the shot,I know it is so far away but had to take it. :0)
Would anyone know how long this bird would stay around, before moving on again? :0)
