I had a brilliant day out today,
Temp 0 to 1C no wind,
plenty of snow on the ground,
The whole reserve was ringing out with birdsong, started off with blue, great & coal tits, with greenfinches, dunnocks & chaffinches everywhere, I got to the 1st hide, lots of garden birds again & a gold crest( to fast for pics) & blackbirds everywhere, many with darker beaks,I was told that the golden pheasant was in the holly bush, i did eventually spot it but i could not get the camera to focus on it(i must read the manual)i then spotted a flock of about 50 siskins, way up the top of the alder trees, & 2 treecreepers racing each other up the treesBy now i was begining to freeze up so made my way to the next hide, even more blackbirds were there, along with this little cutey & a table full of these I then saw 5 male & 4 female BULLFINCHES, Amazing sight but could not get them all in one photoI came home after 4 hours there,i was freezing cold but with the biggest smile on my face, a fantastic day out !!!!!!
Brilliant photos Sugar glad to hear about your day out.

Oh Sugar what a brilliant day out (if cold) you seem to have had. Brill pictures I love the Reed Bunting all puffed up and great captures of the Bullfinches and treecreeper. Making me very homesick you know seeing these from probably my fav reserve.
