Just joined up and looking for some advice. We are going to Orkney over Easter. I realise that we will be too early for breeding birds, but wondered if anyone had any advice on what we might see and where we might see it.

April & May can often be beset by the blasts of winter, when a cold wind sends temperatures falling. Since this coincides with the flowering of the Blackthorn, the cold snap is known as a 'Blackthorn Winter'.
