Feeling More Positive :-)
Hi Simon
Well done on getting that close to a Cuckoo and taking such great photos. As TJ and I know only too well, getting photos of a Cuckoo is not an easy task.
Best wishes Chris

I cannot remember when I last heard a cuckoo over here. As an aside, three years ago DH and I visited the Arras Road Cemetery ( British War Graves WW1) - it was incredibly serene, the bird song was beautiful and all around we could hear cuckoos calling.

Cuckoos are another one of those birds, like the Jay, that seem to start out as one one bird and become another.
Jays look like they were supposed to be a magpie, but someone changed their point mid creation .. Cuckoos, Sparrowhawk and then ... nope .. pigeon! ;o)

thank you so much. For Christmas i bought my girlfriend a camera for our hols, but i borrowed it to take pictures of wild birds, and since then i have had the bug. I love going out on my own, sometimes with my girlfriend and exploring, hoping to see rare birds. I am new to wildlife photography, so hearing all your comments really makes me feel like i'm heading in the right direction, and motivates me to get out there and improve, so thank you again:)

I heard that cemeteries are a good place for certain birds. I think it is very fitting to hear bird song in a place of rest,, even more so if its the sound of the cuckoo, it must have been peaceful.
Well done super shots of it there. Never seen one myself, heard them but never seen one.
Thanks for sharing these pics.

HI there,
I too have heard plenty of them. But to have actually seen one long enough to then photograph!
Well done mate. Looks like someone else has the lady luck on their side too :)
