I've tried for years to get a good photo of this family of birds but without any real success.
Here's my best snap to date. Feel free to post yours.

Well done Richard - that is a great shot. I have only managed a blur. I do have some nice ones of them on land though.

Grandpaddy Hi Richard here is one I took of the swallows trying to enter my workshop a few years ago Regards Mick
Two captured together as well - well done.
Trying to roost perhaps !
I took these at Welney in 2008 - but not in motion:
They are tricky little devils to get in flight. Here's one I managed early morning in Muscat. I also tried Last summer in the Uk for a couple of hours but failed miserably. I was up at Bempton in June and there were a couple flying around the visitor center that would have been good to try for as they were flying quite slowly most of the time. I didnt have a right lens though unfortunately.
These are stunning. Anyone who has ever tried to capture these in flight knows just how hard it is.
Just to get any kind of shot is hard enough but to get a good one...
Another cracker Andrew - also just show how good the ealy morning light and wind conditions can be. It's almos like the Red Arrows performing. Did you manage to get it drinking?
Bob, happily retired(-:)

Wonderful shots in this thread, but Andrew's is particularly stunning! Wow!

These are my best - unfortunately, as opposed to Andrew's morning light in Muscat, mine are dusk in Wiltshire(-:), though I'm happy with them, but would really like some like Andrew's(-:).
Not been able to get them in flight. But was lucky to get this shot of one sitting
While sorting out pictures to start up a Flickr account, I found I had taken the following in May this year. Still need to get better though.
Cheers,Bob
I'm just happy if I get them in the frame....
If you can't get a close up of one, get a lot lol.
