Some clues here

Thanks for the link which explains the goings on. Just checked the webcam again and 2 of the eggs are being brooded with the 3rd egg just left sitting alone. Agree that it looks unlikely that any of these eggs will hatch. Feel really sorry for Pa.

It shows that you can be too attractive. Pa seems irrestible to females.
Chick being fed just now. See cam
At least it is dry there today which is something.

Today some sunshine at last.
The Rome chicks have reached the ruffian stage
The Rome chicks look a little downy still but definitely more like peregrines (to my novice eye). A little way in front of our NTU chick.
Tiger There was a peregrine that was nursed back to health a few years ago and when released it tought all it had to do was go back to its old scrape. Well it found out that it was not welcome and took a severe beating. I will try to find the story.

Hi Tiger,
You were thinking of this episode in 2009 from the Brighton nest I think?
Warning - extreme violence between peregrines.
The evicted male Green 34 did survive this fight - he subsequently intruded at the Chichester nest, and was later seen with a new mate at another site.
SueC Thank you very much. That is the one I was thinking of.
I remember that. They really are lethal aren't they? Thanks Sue!
OMG our fast growing chick just tried to swallow a whole pigeon leg complete with ring! Fortunately he/she decided it was a bit too big and discarded it. Phew.....
