  • Have just completed my results for make your nature count and in other wildlife I submitted other animals. What about asking for insect activity too as many summer birds rely on them? After all, the presence of good insect life is a sign of a healthy wildlife space!  Wonder if there are any insect surveys out there to take part in?

  • Hi Linds, apologies, we all seem to have missed your post! Have you seen our Homes for Wildlife project yet, a major part of this is to encourage widllife friendly gardening to enhance the plant diversity, invertebrate abundance and therefore the overall quality of the environment. A healthy eco-system needs all levels of the food chain to be in good order and we are trying to encourage that. We are certainly open to suggestions on improving our surveys and the team behind MYNC may indeed include more varied wildlife in future surveys, watch this space! Thanks for taking part by the way!

There are lots of other surveys out there as well as county recorders who log sightings relevant to their interests. I've linked a few that I know about below but i'm sure others will be able to suggest more!
