I don't want to come over thick! mmm but do sparrows migrate, i have had an abundance of nesting sparrows this year, the last few days they have all dissapeared along with all other feathered freinds, please tell me they have gone for good reason and not because of anything nasty!! cheers i joined this morning. Hi everyone
Hi monks.
No they'll be around but keeping a low profile. Most birds are now in their post breeding season moult phase which makes them less able to avoid predators. Accordingly they'll be trying to be as unobtrusive as possible. The tail end of summer is a quiet time for birds after the exertions of raising families but we'll soon be into "passage time" with the migrants coming and going.

Every day a little more irate about bird of prey persecution, and I have a cat - Got a problem with that?

Welcome from me too, monks. It's pretty quiet in my garden as well. Even the boisterous Starlings have disappeared. They'll be back eating us out of house and home come the Autumn.

Thankyou everyone, i will relax now and look forward to them coming out again.
Hi Monks, a warm welcome from me too. Know how you feel when the garden quietens down, but they'll be back! JBNTS has summed it up well.
bye for now
