Dos anyone know anything about great crested newts , I recently moved to shropshire and I have a small pound which have them in :@ not sure what I have to do as no one has been out to see,check them . thanks

They are a protected species so perhaps you should report to your local council's wildlife officer. Most councils have one

Hi Richard, you should have a green pencil symbol at the bottom of your post, click on that and you will be able to edit your post. If you put Great Crested Newt in the subject line then hopefully somebody more knowlegable on the law and who needs to know, will along and point you in the right direction . As Galatas says they are protected and you are very lucky to have them and if they are in the pond at the moment they are breeding.
