This Blackcap came to my garden last Saturday and I managed a somewhat poor photo of it through the snow and the window. I notice it's been ringed and I'm interested in the history of it, any idea where I could find this out? Looks like a silver ring, the first letter being A. Thanks.
It sounds like its a BTO ring. Unless you can get a close up and read the whole number (or more of it than you have) you will be unlucky.

Unless you can get close enough to read the ring number or the bird is retrapped (by a qualified ringer only) I would have thought there was little chance of tracing its history.
