where have the blackbird chicks gone ?

hello

my sister noticed a blackbirds nest in her garden yesterday with a few pink chicks in the nest because there pink to my knowledge there only a few days old ?

she did not touch the nest and just left it alone

she has gone and had a look again today and the chicks are gone ? and there is 3 greenish blue eggs there ? 

to my own knowledge again if the nest as been disturbed by a predator it is highly unlikely the blackbirds will reuse the nest ?

can anyone help to what has happened and why more eggs confused

Hi Debbie welcome to the forum.

Sorry to hear about the Blackbird chicks, i can think of three possibilities.

Something like a Magpie, A Cat or a Squirrel has taken them.

I can only assume they had not all hatched, yep i wouldn't think they would reuse the nest now.
