over the last few days we have seen a female blackcap feeding regularly in the garden, however it is not being very friendly with the regular feeders and chases them all away from the food, any tips on keeping all the birds happy and fed
I think the only thing you can do Rachel is spread the food about if you can, it can't be two places at once.

The male Blackcaps can be even more aggressive. Last winter I had two take up residence and I had to provide them with their own separate feeders in different parts of the garden. I found that they liked my homemade fatblocks made from blitzed sunflower hearts set with lard. They jealously guarded these and left all the other birds alone.
I haven't had any this winter so far.

A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song. (Chinese proverb)
