Sadly since my last post we are now down to 1 surviving chick out of the 6 that hatched, 1 of the remaining 2 died during the night. We noticed that the mother left them alone all night. She is back feeding the last one this morning but all along she has been one her own. Could this be the reasonnot geting enough food. Fingers crossed for last on which is now almost 2 weeks old.they are
That's really sad Martin. Here's hoping that now there is only one left the mother will be able to find it enough to eat on her own and that it will thrive. Got my fingers crossed for you too.
Glad to say that the 1 remaining chicked fledged this morning. Happy sitting in our plum tree being fed by parent
Great news Martin. One is much better than none. Good luck to the little one.
Cheers, Linda.
